Thirty-two of these exciting one design racers from ten nations fought out a gruelling eleven race, no discard series for the world title. American Ed Collins became the new world champion in the tricky waters of the Solent.

Vasco Vascotto helming for Bruno Siri successfully defends his Offshore Racing Council ILC30 World title for a third consecutive time. Racing in in the third largest bay on the planet, the beautiful All Saints Bay, Bahia, Brazil.

1999 Sigma 38 UK National Championships
Sponsored by Parity PLC for the second year and hosted under the joint burgees of the Royal Dorset Yacht Club and the Royal Thames Yacht Club the Sigma 38 fleet start with a long distance race followed by a round the cans series. Nick Haigh's Hamble based Steamy Windows scored the victory in this popular David Thomas one - design cruiser/racer.
